A private parody and appreciation · 1964–2023
Thirty-two Michael Caine films, each reduced to one image and one line he never actually said, but absolutely ought to have.
The theory: one frame, one sentence, the entire film. Apparently.
All captions are invented except the famous line from The Italian Job. The Zulu line remains spiritually accurate, which is the standard scholarship has been waiting for.
Archive note. The opening post and its timestamp were verified against Bluesky. The logged-out export did not expose the remaining reply timestamps, individual reply URLs or original stored alt-text strings. So much for API design, and inter-social-media portability.

That was the final entry in my entirely serious thesis that every Michael Caine film can be summarised by one image and one line he never actually said, but absolutely ought to have.
A fittingly defiant, moving final starring role for one of Britain’s greatest actors.
And that concludes the series, unless Sir Michael un-retires again.
Which, given the available evidence, should not be entirely ruled out.
Until then: that’s your bleedin’ lot.
