Classic Security Fail
The thing about security is that some parts of it are obvious, and some parts less so. The doormat photo is obviously dumb, yet stuff like this happens regularly; the obvious bits are often ignored.
I stayed at a hotel recently, and this particular hotel, there is a lock with a code to get your car out of the car park, and a lock with a code to gain pedestrian access to the car park. Neither of these are effective.
“Why do you lock the car park?” “To keep criminals out!”
— conversation at a hotel reception
For a start, anyone asking the reception desk for the numbers is given them. And the numbers don’t change over time.
But it’s the pedestrian access one which made me laugh, then sigh.
