Having been nagged into moisturising by my makeup artist, I want to reach out to men generally – even, maybe especially, to those who don’t let their girl-mode out to play.
When I put this stuff on my face it feels like it will just sit there. But rub it in and…. it vanishes. I can almost hear my skin sighing with relief. Twice a day it slurps it all up, like someone dying of thirst suddenly finding an oasis.
Now let us be honest: men generally have NO skincare régime: I didn’t previously. We think of it as vanity, or superfluous to requirements.
And that would be fine were it not for two things.
1 – Sky-Rocketing Melanoma Rates
See this article.
The figures are horrendous, the deaths or life-changing consequences are desperately sad. And avoidable.
As heatwaves become more frequent – as the 1-in-100 year events happen every few years, and the 1-in-1000 year events happen every decade or so – there is serious concern about the rapidly rising instances of melanomas.
2 – You can get morning-use moisturisers which include SPF30 protection.
So kill two birds with one stone!
We can all look fabulous for longer, and, even if you don’t do this for yourself, think about your family and loved ones. They can enjoy you for longer, looking healthy and youthful… and, most importantly, alive.

You don’t even need to feel shy about buying it: go here and get it delivered in a discreet brown box.
The sword of time will pierce our skins
It doesn’t hurt when it begins
But as it works its way on in
The pain grows stronger, watch it grin

Some of us, as the “sword of time” takes its toll, lose some or even all of our hair. There is a reason that solar panels are installed on the roof of a house – that is where you can capture the most UV. Great for power generation, not so great for skin. So don’t forget to apply to those exposed top-of-the-head areas too, or wear a hat. Or a wig (girl-mode advantage!)
Please, look after yourselves!
